  5. I just attended a Maryland MUFON meeting, (I guess you could call it a
  6. meeting but it seemed more like a mini-convention to me), and l heard some
  7. interesting stuff:

  9. [Disclaimer:  I have great sympathy for reporters.  It is _darn_ hard to
  10. listen and think _and_ take legible notes! <grin>]

  14. Said he knows, by name, 12 other people who have clearly seen the
  15. UFO/Ed-craft.
  16.  
  17. Showed a bunch of Red-light UFO videotape.  Several different sequences where
  18. something is seen falling/dropping/lowered from the object.  When analyzed,
  19. he said the odd thing about the 'light' that is 'dropped' is that it shows no
  20. detectable signs of acceleration - so whatever it is that's happenning isn't
  21. simply a dropped light/flare/etc...  [Newton would be alarmed... <grin>]

  23. He mentioned a significant GB sighting on 10/30 that was witnessed by many
  24. people and lasted 9 minutes.  Because of the duration and the number of
  25. witnesses he suggested that there could be other implications.

  27. He stated again that he thinks GB, including Ed, is real and 'the most
  28. important event in UFOlogy today...'  [That's not a direct quote.]

  30. He also mentioned that there have been several times when witnesses have seen
  31. kites and balloons with flares but these were infrequent and easily spotted.

  33. He mentioned a sneaky radar confirmation where a MUFON investigator, I think
  34. he said it was Morrison, witnessed a Red-light UFO, called an Air Traffic
  35. Controller at one of the Naval Air Stations in Gulf Breeze and claimed to be
  36. on a boat and 'saw something weird.'  The Controller said they had spotted it
  37. too, had no idea what it was, but were already checking into it...  In a
  38. next-day official inquiry the NAS said they tracked nothing...

  42. The Friedman/Berliner Roswell book will be out in June '92 and as of today
  43. the publisher hasn't selected a title from the 18 possible titles Friedman
  44. and Berliner submitted.  Friedman and others did the research, Berliner wrote
  45. the book.  Basically, regarding the Roswell part of the book, (it will be
  46. about other things as well), they accept the Randle/Schmitt version of
  47. Roswell and then _ADD_ to that scenario a 2nd crash scenario at the Plains of
  48. St. Augustine, which is about 150 miles from Corona (the actual Roswell crash
  49. site).  I sure hope they have more to go on than just the Gerald Anderson
  50. diary/regressed memory and a 2nd-hand comment allegedly made by Brazel, when
  51. he was quite old and already sick with cancer, about 'getting the cancer from
  52. breathing the alien's air'...  He specifically downplayed the squabbles
  53. associated with this event and the research.

  55. Berliner stated that he's not aware of any decent evidence regarding alleged
  56. MIBs and he speculated that their general decline and disappearance from the
  57. UFO scene was oddly correlated with the decline of those people who passed
  58. around those stories...

  60. He also had an interesting story related by Hynek (I think) about a "cocktail
  61. party" where Carl Sagan informally questioned Hynek specifically about the
  62. Abduction phenomenon.  Nothing else, just abductions, for hours.  Sagan was
  63. very well prepared and informed prior...

  65. Linda Howe:

  67. "Fox has been overwhelmed with phone calls and letters" regarding the recent
  68. UFO show - almost all positive.  About 9 - 10 million viewers based on the
  69. N-rating...  She said it was "_very difficult_" to get the Animal Mutilation
  70. and Alien Abduction topics, in _any_ edited version, included in the show.
  71. She showed cutting-room-floor clips that are interesting not only for their
  72. information content but also for the possible reasons why they were excluded.

  74. She clarified some points regarding Jesse Long and the alleged implant.
  75. According to the analysis it is much closer to quartz crystal than it is to
  76. glass.  She showed slides of microscopic photo comparisons where this is
  77. easily visible.

  79. She also said that there are 2 other implants currently being studied by
  80. unnamed Universities that are 99% carbon.  Additionally, she kinda/sorta
  81. mentioned "fleshy tissue implants", specifically the type nasally inserted,
  82. which could very well be undetectable...

  84. She said she has information on continuing animal mutilations as recent as
  85. several weeks ago.

  87. November 11th she and Maccabee will be on, or will be taping, some unnamed
  88. talk show, she is getting calls from numerous producers/networks, she said
  89. 'it' is catching on and getting big.

  91. Howe/Crop Circles:

  93. She showed a good crop circle video, (with goofy chanting music that sounded
  94. exactly like the music from The Omen...).

  96. She said the Mandelbrot crop circle, and several other of the complicated
  97. patterns in England, were burned by the farmers within several days of being
  98. made.
  99.  
  100. She was in England, with the National Geographic crew, when the Barbury
  101. Castle formation was made.  (This is a _very_ large and complex geometric
  102. patttern.)  They were in that field at 10pm the night prior and no formation
  103. was present, at 6am the following morning the entire formation was there.
  104. Apparently the National Geographic crew was _quite_ impressed and she said
  105. their show will most likely reflect this and be even-handed.

  107. She mentioned the "crystaline change", but did not follow-up on this item.

  109. She said that there has been a agriglyph-type crop circle in the US, four
  110. weeks ago, and the _first_ people on the scene were the military.  They told
  111. the owner they were going to destroy his field and they "schredded" his field
  112. then and there.  She said she was unable to provide any further details at
  113. this time.
